Who we are
Join Me on the Journey to Make a Difference
A chance business call with Charlie Panayi, has led to me doing things that I had never even heard of or considered. Unfortunately, Charlies sister, Zoe, died of cancer at the age of 26 and he set himself 12 challenges in 10 months to continue to raise awareness of their proposed Zoe’s Law. Charlie asked me if I would like to do Kilimanjaro with him. To be honest, I hadn’t ever considered doing it and to buy myself some time, I said “I need to ask the boss”.
That evening I said to my better half, Charlie has asked me to do Kilimanjaro with him, I don’t want to do that, do I? To my surprise, she said, of course you do, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity! So, that’s how it began.
A few months later, Charlie announced at a networking event that I was joining him for that challenge and if anyone wanted to join him in reaching Everest Base Camp, the last of the 12, to let him know. I thought, I’m going to have all the kit, I’m going to know if I’m ok at altitude, my other half won’t mind, I might as well do that one as well!
So, as well as raising awareness for Zoe’s Law, we also raised money for local charities.
Kilimanjaro and EBC have given me the bug for adventures and in 2025, Mount Toubkal and Mont Blanc are on the agenda as well as running the London Marathon in aid of Wessex Cancer Support and the latter has led to this website.
I am lucky that I have the contact with local businesses to be able to twist their arms to get them to sponsor me for the London Marathon and so please see “my sponsors” and links to their websites should you need any help in their particular fields but I also wanted to start to document my adventures and futures endeavours.
